Filtered Water Bottle Comparison

Most people who make the decision to purchase bottled water make a long term commitment to providing safe, good tasting water for themselves and their families. This article will examine the comparative costs of purchasing bottled water for that long term commitment vs. the purchase of a Portable Filtered Water Bottle.

A portable filtered water bottle will last for many years with a periodic filter change being the only ongoing cost. Bottled water, however, is an ongoing expense. Whether you lug water home from a store or you have it delivered to you, the price of purchased water will always be on-going.

As you know, water prices fluctuate greatly, depending on brand, packaging design, and place of purchase:

• 1 gallon of spring water (at a grocery store) $0.99•
16 oz. bottle of drinking water (convenience store) $0.89
• 32 oz. bottle of drinking water (convenience store) $1.69
• 6-pack of 24 oz bottles (at grocery store) $3.79

It is commonly known that humans should consume at least eight(8) 8-oz. glasses of water every day (= ½ gallon per day). This equals 3.5 gallons of water every week.

In one week, assume you consume:1 gallon water ($0.99), 3-16 oz. bottles ($0.89), 4-32 oz. bottles ($1.69), and one 6-pack of 24 oz. bottles ($3.79)

Bottled Water = $14.21 per week

Water Filter Bottle = $01.12 per week!!

At $12.95, a 16-oz. filter bottle will give you over 40 gallons of filtered water, at about $0.32 per gallon!!

Your savings with portable water filters are about $700 PER YEAR!!

10 Benefits of Using a Portable Water Filter

Portable Water filters provide better tasting and better smelling drinking water by removing chlorine and bacterial contaminants.

Point-of-use water bottle filters remove lead from drinking water immediately prior to consumption, thus preventing this harmful substance from entering the body.

The purchase of a personal water filter results in a source of clean, healthy water that costs much less than bottled water.

Water filters greatly reduce the risk of rectal cancer, colon cancer, and bladder cancer by removing chlorine and chlorine byproducts from drinking water.

A solid block carbon water filter can selectively remove dangerous contaminants from drinking water while retaining healthy mineral deposits that balance the pH of drinking water.

Drinking clean, filtered water constantly protects the body from disease and leads to overall greater health.

A water filter provides clean, healthy water for cooking, as well as drinking, at the convenience of tap water.

Portable water filters reduce the risk of gastrointestinal disease by more than 33 percent by removing cryptosporidium and giardia from drinking water.

Drinking pure water is especially important for children. Water filters provide the healthiest water for children’s developing immune systems. Getting your children hooked on a water bottle filter now will help them later in life.

Water bottle filters offer the last line of defense between the body and the over 2100 known toxins that may be present in drinking water.

Filter Giardia - Water Parasite Danger

Get your Biological Water Bottle Filter yet? No? You’ll love this……..

The Giardia Club

Giardia - this is the little varmint that causes so much trouble. I don’t want to scare you too much, but some people get pretty sick when giardia latches on to the intestine and starts doing its thing.

The giardia lifestyle is to feed on you and then reproduce, sending potential offspring flowing out the anal canal and into the environment. In fact, as you read this, there are literally billions and billions of giardia cysts in the wild, and in cities. They wait eagerly for you to ingest them. Then you too, will become a full fledged member of the Giardia Club

The Horror of Giardia

I’ve had giardia making a home inside my intestines, but I’ve never experienced the horror part. Mine was only uncomfortable, a bit of a pain. But some people do have a time with it. You see, the symptoms vary from person to person. At least the severity of the giardia symptoms vary.

There is certainly some of the “I wish I were dead” syndrome. Unfortunately, there is no way to know in advance whether your body will react mildly to giardia, or whether it will go into full scale revolution and chaos at the introduction of the giardia organism to your system.
It would be nice if one became immune to giardia, but if that does occur, it takes generations of humans to do it. For now, you’re stuck. You can catch it again, and again, and again. Check back tomorrow for the Giardia symptoms. But don’t wait!! You’ll want to take a look at portable water filters, water bottle filters, and Biological Filters to avoid giardia.

Just look at this nasty bug……

Standards and Regulations for Bottled Water - Get a Portable Water Filter

Portable Water Filters are becoming more and more popular with the decline of bottled water quality.

Bottled water, because it is defined as a “food” under federal regulations, is under the authority of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) while the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)—under much stricter standards—regulates tap water. Thus, bottled water, depending upon the brand, may actually be less clean and safe than tap water. The EPA mandates that local water treatment plants provide city residents with a detailed account of tap water’s source and the results of any testing, including contaminant level violations. Bottled water companies are under no such directives.

Also, while municipal water systems must test for harmful microbiological content in water several times a day, bottled water companies are required to test for these microbes only once a week.

Similarly, public water systems are required to test for chemical water contaminants four times as often as bottled water companies. In addition, loopholes in the FDA’s testing policy do not require the same standards for water that is bottled and sold in the same state, meaning that a significant number of bottles have undergone almost no regulation or testing.
Even under the more lax standards of the FDA, bottled water companies do not always comply with standardized contaminant levels.

Alarmingly, the 1999 NRDC study found that 18 of the 103 bottled water brands tested contained, in at least one sample, “more bacteria than allowed under microbiological-purity guidelines.”

Also, about one fifth of the brands tested positive for the presence of synthetic chemicals, such as industrial chemicals. In addition, bottled water companies are not required to test for cryptosporidium, the chlorine-resistant protozoan that infected more than 400,000 Milwaukee residents in 1993. Bottled water companies, because they are not under the same accountability standards as municipal water systems, may provide a significantly lower quality of water than the water one typically receives from the tap.

It’s time we quit drinking bottled water, it is expensive and of less quality. What we need is something free like tap water that is also safe!! Portable Water Filters and Water Bottle Filters are the answer, you simply fill up the bottle wherever are and it filters as you drink. No chemicals and no mess.

The Myth of Bottled Water Convenience

Are Portable Water Filters Better? Shouldn't every person carry a Water Filter Bottle?

One of the most-cited reasons for drinking bottled water is “convenience.” Actually, “availability” might be a better word. Bottled water is available virtually everywhere you turn in your daily activities. Not only can you buy it in most service stations and convenience stores, you can get it in most office buildings, from either vending machines or a sandwich or snack shop. For this ready availability, you will pay at least twice as much as the same brand costs in volume at a discount store.

Consequently, if you refuse to pay double for bottled water wherever you are, you must take it with you. Here’s where the “convenience” factor wears very thin. First, you must load a case or more into your shopping cart. Then, you unload it at the cash register to pay for it. Again, you load it into the shopping cart, and push it to your car. Unload the shopping cart, load it into your car. Unload your car, carry it into the house. Unpack it and load it into the refrigerator. Grab a few bottles to take with you, and fight with them until you have finished the last one. “Convenience” is not descriptive of this process.

Therefore, if bottled water is not “convenient,” only “accessible,” there has to be a better alternative. Tap water tastes awful, which started the bottled water craze in the first place. How about “filter as you drink?” Buy an inexpensive water filter bottle, take it with you (empty, if you like) and fill or refill it when you like, where you happen to be at the time. Lots more convenience; lots more availability, even. And when you factor in economy, portable water filter bottles win hands down!

Portable Filtered Water vs Bottled Water

Bottled water has become one of the largest industries in the world. Over half of all Americans drink bottled water, spending 240-10,000 times more per gallon for bottled water than they do for tap water, a trend largely fueled by the misconception that bottled water is safer or healthier than tap water.

Is bottled water really the best way to get healthy, great tasting water? How do you know about the quality of the water your buying? Is the cost worth it?Controversial reports from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in Washington, DC, and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Gland, Switzerland, say no. Even the Federal agency that regulates bottled water quality, the FDA, says no!

The FDA states: “Companies who market bottled water as being safer than tap water are defrauding the American public.”

The best alternative to tap water is water filtration, using a combination of portable water filters, water bottles filter, and in-home water filtration. With these water filters, you can have better than bottled water quality…..for under 10¢ a gallon.

It has also become a target of the environmental community due to the massive amounts of plastic bottles being disposed of from bottled water use.

Bottled water is now a multi-billion dollar business, the fastest growing and most profitable segment of the entire beverage industry. If you currently buy bottled water, chances are it’s because you prefer the taste and trust the quality over tap water, but do you really know what is or is not in bottled water?

Indoor plumbing was one of the greatest lifestyle enhancements in history. We once had to leave our house, transport and store water. Then, we progressed to indoor plumbing and had a continuous supply of water at our fingertips. Now, we are regressing…people are once again transporting and storing water. Instead of walking to the well, we are driving to the store or having water driven to us. Bottled water simply doesn’t make sense, don’t let high priced ad campaignes make you think that it does. Once you know the truth, we hope you’ll join the millions of informed consumers who are “Just saying no” to bottled water!

Water Filtration vs. bottled water… it’s better quality, a much better value, far more convenient… and it’s better for the environment!
